WEBSITE BUILDING TOOLS
About web building tools:

There are a ton of different website building tools available. They can cost from free to beyond $600. Most require knowledge of html code and other resources of web building technology such as tables, CSS, and more. Just becoming familiar with these subjects can be very time consuming and frustrating. It takes enough time just to plan and actually construct your web site. Having to learn the languages/codes and techniques involved for it to function properly can be overwhelming.

I indicated in an earlier article that there are some companies that package it all up into one complete service. Domain registry, website hosting and website building tools. If you really want to go simple and less expensive, these may work for you. But the tools they give for building your website are rather simple and cookie cutter.

There are free composer programs that you can download. You'll find yourself spending many hours trying to learn and grasp the use of the html language and layout resources. If you are familiar with all of these technical tools, you may wish to download Kompozer. There are plenty of instructional articles and tutorials available. My first attempt at building my own website for fun was done...or attempted, with Kompozer. I bought Dummies guides specific to html, CSS, tables, and more. I comprehended most of these but it took a long time and still the big picture didn't quite come together when I began to apply the knowledge. I eventually said "too much" with too little progress.

Then there are the professional software packages. I didn't want to spend a fortune for the better known packages that cost upwards to $600 or more. And if I purchased lessor known, would they really do what I wanted? Plus, for any of these, how much of the technical knowledge would be needed. They might give you all you could ever want for design purposes, but would I end up having to take a course at some community college to really be able to make use of them?

I started reviewing software that wouldn't break the bank and yet required a minimum of technical knowledge. There weren't many out there. But I did find one that seemed to meet all the criteria. This one has ease of use, good support and help desk, design variables. It even has a page analysis feature that grades each of your pages for industry standard readability. It also gives you tips on how to fix those parts of your page(s) that fail to meet the standards.

My selection of software was XSitePro 2. It cost under $200.00 and has worked wonderfully. Finally I had a web building program that didn't require any of the technical knowledge. You build in a guided fashion and all the technical things like html (which is needed to talk to the internet), is done for you automatically in the background. I can use my time to create my site without any of the background knowledge one would otherwise need! If you know html, you can alter the source code to your liking.

I have provided the link to XSite Pro on the right panel or you can click here. Check it out for yourself.
